Privacy notice for candidates

This notice explains what TRALKAN does with the information you give us when you apply for a role. It is written for candidates and covers only the hiring process.

Who is responsible

Marcial del Real Figueroa is the controller of the personal data you submit through this careers site. You can reach us at careers@tralkan.ch for anything in this notice, and at privacy@tralkan.ch to exercise the rights described below.

What we collect

Only what you enter in the application form and the files you attach: your name, email, optional phone number, country of residence, your CV and — if you send one — your cover letter, your optional profile links, your answer about the right to work in the role's country, your availability, an optional salary expectation, your answers to any role-specific questions, and how you heard about us.

Where a role works in specific languages, we also ask which languages you work in and the level you declare for each. We ask this only for roles where it is part of the job.

We deliberately do not ask for your date of birth, a photograph, your marital status, your nationality, your current or previous salary, or anything about your health, religion, political views or family plans. If your CV includes any of it, we do not use it to assess you.

To keep the form usable we also record that a submission attempt happened, keyed by a salted hash of your email address and IP. The address itself is never stored in readable form.

Why we use it

To assess your application, to communicate with you about it, and — if you opt in — to contact you about future roles. We do not use your data for advertising, we do not sell it, and no automated system decides the outcome of your application. A person reads it.

Who receives it

The people at TRALKAN involved in hiring for the role. Our infrastructure providers process it on our behalf: Vercel (hosting and file storage), Neon (database), Clerk (sign-in for our own team) and Resend (email).

These are United States companies, so your data is transferred there. Vercel certifies its adherence to the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. For the others, the safeguards for that transfer are set out in the data processing agreement we have with each of them. If you want to know the mechanism that applies to a specific provider, ask us and we will tell you.

How long we keep it

If your application does not lead to an offer, we delete your data 6 months after the process closes.

If you opted in to our talent pool, we keep it for 12 months instead, and we ask you before extending it further.

Files uploaded without a completed application are deleted after 24 hours.

When we delete your data we also delete your files. What remains is an internal record that a deletion happened, which contains no personal data.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it before the retention period ends. Write to privacy@tralkan.ch and we will act on it. You can also withdraw your talent pool consent at any time without affecting an application in progress.

If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data or your request, you can report it to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), the supervisory authority for data protection in Switzerland. You do not need to contact us first.
